The time has come, our BIG little man, Roman’s first annual Back to School shoot! We are SO excited for his first year beginning at a new Pre-K school and getting prepared for…dare I say, kindergarten next year. EEP! A new big brother, just for 4 weeks here and he did AMAZING for Mama! Must have been the special one-on-one time he was getting with me. : D
Some behind the scenes again… I think it’s fun to share the “flaws”, because no-one’s lives are perfect! I’m sure you’ll have some fun with this too, haha….
Like his circus shoot, (unforeseen circumstances with crazy wind during set up), the day of Roman’s back to school shoot was well….shocking! He had me in tears hours before our planned time. I was sitting holding Beckam on the couch and he hesitantly poked his head around the corner of the wall and said…”Mom…I had to cut my hair, it was ….in my face, so I had to cut it”. My mouth dropped and it was one of my worst nightmares that he would do to himself…let alone on the day of a special shoot planned for him! I squeeled and gasped and cried Nooooo! Whyyyyyyy! I surveyed the damage and debated over the next few hours on what to do…Was there ANY fixing this? Do we cancel the shoot? Do we cut it in a totally different style to compensate? Finally decided to move forward and if anything it could be a trial run and I could look through photos to decide it it was a flop. Well…to my fancy, he was a ROCKSTAR during our shoot time and I was able to capture everything I hoped! I was so thankful I did not cut his hair even more because it’s not “that” noticeable, haha and I just love those blonde wavy curls! Oh Roman, I hope this is the start of you being a willing participant behind Mommy’s camera because I have so many ideas I’ve dreamed up for you!
I just LOVE capturing all the moments and expressions of a child…..JOY, curiosity, silliness, angelic, playfulness, etc. Yes, occasionally the looking at the camera and smiling photos, but I’m a sucker for all the REAL moments in-between.
